How to Choose the Best Bowling Balls that Suit Your Needs

Playing bowling will be a lot more fun if you use the best bowling balls. Of course you can always use the house balls, but if it doesn’t match your grip and your skill level, you will go home with sad face because you can’t make even one strike.

Choosing the best bowling ball is not that difficult, but you need to really pay attention to the elements of the balls. These are the most important things that you need to consider when buying a bowling ball.

The Weight

Bowling ball is heavy and you need a great deal of arm strength to throw the ball. The heavier the ball is, the bigger your chance to strike all the pins. However, you should not choose the heaviest ball just because you want to score. You also need to pay attention to your own limit.

Females usually use a bowling ball with around 10 to 12 pounds of weight while males 12 to 14 pounds. But it is not a strict rule. As long as you can lift the ball and throw it well without injuring your arm, any weight will do.

The Material

Don’t forget to choose the material of the cover stock. For beginners or people who cannot handle heavy weight, plastic polyester ball is the best choice. You will not be able to perform good hooking action with that, and the ball also cannot hit the pins hard, but at least you will come home in one piece.

For more experienced players, it is best to ditch the plastic ball and use balls with reactive resin cover. Reactive resin makes the best bowling balls because it can roll well in both dry and oily lane. Furthermore, the fast rolling speed also allows you to practice some hooking techniques and the weight will strike the pins better.
